Chaos In Marina Mall

It was Pure Chaos On Eid day and on New years Eve, reminded me of the days of Old when we used to sit by the raging river and watch the ferocity of water. Only Difference was the hallways of Marina Mall were just like the river . Young kids with high testostrones oozing out in extraordinary proportions were roaming in amazing speed , round and round again hunting for for anything that looked like the opposite sex.

Young guns with electrocuted hair [ they look like they just came back from 2003] and Girls dressed in the latest H&M wear[ME version aka mini skirts on top of jeans, tight top but with a hijab] taking circles of Marina with expressions written all over ' look at me, look at me'' . But it was the day of some up and coming future predators , girls were being molested in the open even while parents were around them. I wouldn't lie because i saw at least three girls screaming at top of thier voice for 'help' but no one cared [ who wants trouble anyways?] .Boys would just walk straight in to girls as if they are going to hug them but move away in the last split moment, which unbelivably brought out 'giggles' from majority of the girls which certainly increased the level of testostrones in many hoodlums. There were certain antics such as a boy holding his erected penis brought out the best blushes of a teenaged girl . Then there were others probably 10 or 12 years old using the benifit of their innocent age[?] rubbing themselves to anything that looked like a woman. In short it was chaos in the name of festivities .

The car dispalyed in fron of Virgin was guarded by four men in each Corner just to avoid any scrathces to the car. but the worst was some boys pushed the kiosk of Tissot and the Kiosk fell with a loud bang spilling all the darn expensive watches on the floor , luckily all the watches fell underneath the cupboard and no one could steal them as it was immidietly guraded by the security of the Mall. This was all on First Day of the Eid , The second day was more toned as most of the security was back from thier day off , Insider news was the mall management insisted on all shops including the restaraunts to close by 11PM to avoid more chaos in the name new year celebrations.

But it was fun , it was just like the day next to the raging river , Thank God ! i was not dragged in to the river.

Gang-rape case gets murky

KUWAIT: It was a complaint by an American woman that led to the arrest of more than a dozen suspects for gang-raping a runaway Filipina maid on Dec 14, Philippines Embassy's Administrative Officer Dr Tomara Ayo revealed during an interview with Kuwait Times yesterday. The American woman, according to Ayo, was at the police station with a local youth whom she accused of sexually molesting her. At that same time, Ana (not her real name), 18, the Filipina runaway maid who was earlier reported to have been gang-raped by 17 men by some Arabic newspapers, formally lodged a rape complaint accompanied by embassy officials at the police station.
The youth, whom the American woman accused of harassment, was identified by Ana as one of her rapists. The youth admitted the rape and named the others involved. His admission led to the arrest of the other suspects. Fourteen of the 16 youths, who are all 14-20 years old, are now in police custody, and a hearing was held at the prosecutor's office yesterday to investigate the case. However it's unclear if the suspects will be charged. Yesterday, Kuwait Times learned that some "influential" people, including a lawmaker, had tried to intervene in the case. The MP apparently called on the Filipina, her lawyers and embassy officials to recant her story and drop the charges. He is thought to be intervening on behalf of one of the accused.
Ana came to Kuwait on September 2005. She escaped from her abusive employer whom she accused of not paying her monthly salary. But on her way to the embassy, she was kidnapped by four youths who took her to a desert camp and raped her. Ana begged for her life but she was helpless. She was brought to another camp only to be raped again by several other youths. On late evening of December 14, she was dropped by the same group at her embassy in Jabriya. But she memorised the plate number of the car.
Reaching her embassy, Ana did not complain of rape out of shame. At first, she filed for harassment and non-payment of salary. But after a few days of pain and sleepless nights, she decided to reveal her secret to an embassy official, who then helped her to file complaints at the police station. The embassy says it has hired a private lawyer to fight Ana's case. They expect a court hearing to start by next month.
"Her case is now at the Kuwait prosecutor's office. Ana is undergoing counselling and therapy to help her overcome her traumatic experience and we are doing all we can to provide necessary help for her. We believe in the judicial process in Kuwait. We have many cases resolved here in which we have attested the commitment and respect of the Kuwaiti government towards the rights of others. I believe the same will happen in Ana's case," Ayo noted.

Filipina recounts 'rape'ordeal

'I hope they rot in jail'

KUWAIT CITY: "They should be punished and I want them to rot in jail. Even their life is not enough to pay for what they've done to me," blurted Ana (not her real name), the Filipina domestic helper who was allegedly abducted and raped by 15 young men on Dec 14 in a desert camp.

Talking to the Arab Times on Tuesday, Ana who was clad in abaya and wearing a brown hijab, talked softly with her fierce eyes as she narrated every detail of her horrifying experience at the hands of the suspects. Ana, 19, who hails from a town in Southern Mindanao in the Philippines, arrived in Kuwait in September 2005. She is the eleventh in a family of 13.

"On that night, I decided to leave my employer because her seven-year old child and my madam always hit me on my back and I couldn't take it any longer, but I didn't know that by escaping from that ordeal, something worse would happen to me," she pointed out. Ana, who walked away from her employer's residence waited for a taxi to pass by to no avail, hence, she decided to go back to her employer's house.

"On my way back to the house, a huge vehicle stopped in front of me and three young men alighted from the car and abducted me. I tried to cry for help but no one heard me and they were too strong," she recounted. The three men allegedly raped her inside the car and when they were through with her, they called two of their friends who also took turns in raping her. She added that they called again four of their friends who took her to a tent in an undisclosed desert camp where they also raped her. Then another two took her to another tent where she was also raped. Finally, four brought her to another tent and also took turns in raping her.

Ana, who appeared to be a fighter, told the Arab Times that she was brought up by her father to be a tough girl who would not easily give up amidst the atrocities of life. "I don't easily cry. I have to be strong and my great source of strength right now is Allah (SWT)," she pointed out. She is currently undergoing counseling from the Social Workers at the Filipino Workers Resource Centre and some representatives of the Islam Presentation Committee.

Amid the reports by some of the local dailies that the families of the suspects are trying to negotiate an out-of-court settlement, Ana expressed that she is resolved to pursue the case against the suspects and vowed to fight till justice is served.

"I tried to fight back but they were too strong for me. Whenever I shouted, they would strangle me and hit me. I didn't want to die so I endured all the pain to keep myself alive so they would pay for what they have done to me," she stressed.

She disclosed that out of the 17 suspects, 14 of them sodomised her while one took her from the front while the other two pitied her and did not touch her. Some also asked her to perform oral sex on them. Due to the pain, she even excreted some waste but this did not stop the suspects from raping her, she said "They're like animals with no mercy," she pointed out with quivering voice.

She said that the two suspects who did not touch her were the ones who "I came here to work and have a better life for me and my family but this nightmare happened to me," she said.
Meanwhile, Philippine Embassy Administrative Officer Dr. Tomara Muamar Ayo informed the Arab Times that 15 of the 17 suspects who were positively identified by Ana are now under the custody of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Police Station. He added that the embassy-hired lawyer, Atty Ayed Al-Subaie submitted Monday additional evidence to the Ahmadi Prosecutor's Office that would boost the case against the suspects. He disclosed that the lawyer believes that Ana has a strong case against the suspects.

"We believe in the Kuwait Justice system and the Philippine Embassy under the leadership of Ambassador Ricardo Endaya will extend its full assistance to the victim to ensure that justice will prevail," Ayo stressed.

8 out of 28 youths held in rape of Indonesian woman

Eight youths held for rape: Securitymen have arrested eight of the 28 youths for raping an Indonesian woman during a four-hour stint inside a camp in Julai'a, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the victim, identified only as Idah. B., somehow managed to pull herself together and filed a complaint with officials of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait.

Information provided by the embassy and intensive efforts exerted by the police led to arrest of eight suspects.
Surprising an unidentified member of Kuwait's Parliament is said to have tried in vain to seek the release of two of the culprits, according to a reliable police source. The same source said the maid is suffering from internal bleeding and complains of pain in the back and limbs.
The victim is held at the same place where other maids who have run away from their sponsors are being held until their paper work for deportation from the country is complete.
Without going into more details a security source said police are looking for the rest of the 'rapists.

Condoms 'too big' for Indian men

A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men.

Sour grapes

Today was big day , had this interview call from a "leader in Fashion" in Kuwait. I was asked to fill in the application , along with it came a three page IQ test .I was like :"what?" . There were real stupid questions like . What comes after 100-96.5-92-86.5-? I had no clue what i was going to write . Anyway afer this sweltering 30 minute test which remind me of my school days , another half hour wait to meet the GM. Hey ! guess what , i was better dressed than this friggin GM , The moment i saw him i felt he didn't like me.

Intview

That was my interview or more of an Interogation of my present work place. I wonder what kind of people exist, First being the GM the man was unshaved , not even in a suit but in a winter jacket. Which company in its sane mind gives IQ test to hire employees ! If my IQ was beyond 140 would i ever think of being in Fashion Industry?

I was upset, not because i didnt get the Job, i wouldnt take it even if i was selected . I was upset because of the way the interview took place. Now that grapes are sour i realized that i am at a good place in Marina, i have all that i need. So anymore i will not go wandering for sour grapes .

'HINDI'

Doha 2006 opening ceremony was so brilliant . Defenetly will be rememberd for a long time to come. But even before the tournament has began there has been complaints that 'rude' behavior of volunteers . Qatar has hired volunteers to assist them with this massive project [ ofcourse ! where they can find local volunteers ] But these voulunteers have prooved themselves to be racists and treated Indian Olympic Silver Medalist Lt Col Rajyavardan Rathore is a ' rude ' manner .

Sorry Mr Rathore no matter you are a Olympic silver medalist but in this part of the world the fact remains that you are nothing but a ' Hindi' so take care till your compitition is over . I wish you luck . i hope you will win Gold Medal .

Proud to be an 'Hindi' .

Sidhu - end of an era ?

I am a cricket fanatic , atleast i used to be one till some years ago when i realised how cricket has been tarnished with all the scandal involving Azaruddin [Indian Captain ]and Hansi Cronje [South African Captain] who took money to lose matches and eventually were barred from Cricket for life. There was this another episode which was forgotten by everybody for last 18 years and Finally some justice , My ex- Idol [ only on the ground] Navjot Singh Sidhu has been convicted of Murder he commited in a parking lot some 18 years back. I do remember reading the news back in 1988 when there was not much TV around and all we had to do is depend up on the newspaper for news . Now the times are a changing, almost everything is on TV . Though he is an MP of BJP , Indians justice system has proved its self as righteous and no matter how many years it takes justice will be served to the poor and also to the elite alike . I have fond memories of Sidhu smashing Pak bowlers all over the ground during the 1996 cricket world cup in Bangalore , but I didn't like his career after his retierment.As a commentator he was over talkative and also as a BJP MP . Dec 6 will decide his fate that how many years he will serve . Also Dec 19 will decide another ex idol of Mine bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is also convicted of illieagal arms possesion in 1993 Bombat Blast case . Will have to wait to see what will happen to these two guys .

Wecome to Marina Mall a complete no smoking mall . If you forget and light up you will be asked by this gentle security guard in dishdasha and you are forced to put of the ciggi . But what amazed me is i was puffing smoke in a blaze of glory and as usual the Security guard asked me to 'put off ' . so i did in front of the watch shop 'Cerutti' . What caught my eyse is three of Cerutti staff were smoking inside the shop like a chimney the winter . And no one to bother . If ever you need a smoking place other than Marina Mall toilet .Just enter Cerutti as a customer . The only place you are treated as a King while you are still smoking .
